Here we are stopped at the south end of the Ottawa siding, so I got off and grabbed this shot as we waited for a B&O northbound to pass. Since we left Flat Rock at 5:30 am and arrived Junction at 12:20 pm, I would guess this shot was taken pretty early in the morning. Engine 418 is the unit I was riding in for all the cab shots, except the one at Diann and that was on unit 410.
The whole lineup was: 418, 212, 420, 400 and the date was August 27, 1977 (southbound) and August 28 (northbound on JD-2 with units 410, 222, 215).
It sure was fun -- wish I could do it again!!
