Thrall Car Manufacturing Co. delivered 200 52' 6" gondolas to the DT&I in October/November 1971. Although a few were sold to Conrail in the mid-80's, most of these cars are still in revenue service for CN/IC today carrying scrap steel or working in MOW service.

I took these pictures of 9777 in company service on the Maybee Team Track in July 1981.

The ends of several of the remaining cars were rebuilt sometime in the 1990's.

Outside of the reporting marks and car data, the cars still wear the same coat of paint they were delivered with (what's left of it!).
