Repair Pool Car. Being in the Repair Pool probably explains why this car is painted
blue when all the other 26800's were painted magenta.

26886-26899

This series of 72-ton cars was built in 1970 by Penn Central (PC class X67) and had riveted sides. They were also delivered in Magenta paint with yellow lettering and white compass shading.

According to Eric Neubauer on the Freightcars List (April 16, 2005) these cars were also assigned the numbers PC 295672-295685 in the PC car roster. They would have been re-numbered into the CR 293000-293020 number block if the DT&I had been merged into Conrail.

69000-69012

These 50-ton cars have an interesting history. Built for the GB&W by Thrall and Greenville in 1966 and 1965, they were leased by the Ann Arbor from 1970 to 1975 and assigned to the Saline MI Ford plant.

They got 'GBW' reporting marks in 1975; 69005-69012 recieved 'DTI' reporting marks by January 1977, and 69000-69004 also got 'DTI' reporting marks by January 1979. At least one went to the Terre Haute, Brazil & Eastern before 1991.

The cars are listed as having DT&I reporting marks in the 1977 through 1985 ORERs and are gone from the GTW listing in the July 1990 ORER - does anybody have more info or photos of these cars with DTI reporting marks?
