History

The 19150-19199 series insulated 40' boxcars were constructed in the DT&I's Jackson Shops in 1958 from boxcars in the 11500-11799 series USRA rebuilt boxcars. They  were insulated inside and rebuilt with 8' Superior plug doors and Keystone 10" end-of-car cushioning equipment; all cars had rare Murphy 16-panel rigid radial roofs,  5/5/5 Murphy ends and riveted sides.

In 1968, 123 insulated boxcars from series 19000-19199 were sold to American Colloid and apparently repainted by DT&I for them (see the 'JN' weigh date under reporting marks in photo below?). They were off American Colloid's roster by 1976.

Modeling the Car

In HO I would recommend starting with Tichy Train Group's #293-4028 (the Walthers pic is a PRR-leased DT&I car) USRA rebuilt steel-side boxcar kit. The 16-panel Murphy roof would have to be built from scratch and an 8' plug door, reinforcement gussets, and door tracks added.
